Bitwise Launches the Bitwise AI Platform, with Managed Services Agent and FulkrumAI as First Domain Applications

Bitwise launches its AI Platform with FulkrumAI and Managed Services Agent as its first domain applications, helping enterprises modernize data estates, streamline operations, and scale agentic AI with built-in governance, traceability, and cost control.

Enterprise-ready agentic AI for data and digital engineering - from legacy migration to ongoing managed services

PUNE, India and CHICAGO, Sep. 8, 2026 — Bitwise, an AI-first engineering enterprise, today announced the launch of the Bitwise AI Platform, a foundation for building and running enterprise AI agents with the controls large organisations require, along with the first two business applications built on it. The Managed Services Agent speeds up support and incident resolution for data engineering operations, and FulkrumAI moves enterprise data estates off legacy systems onto a modern cloud lakehouse.

Most enterprise AI pilots don't fail because the technology underperforms. They fail because the business can't yet answer the questions that follow: who approved this, what is it based on, what did it cost, and can we stand behind the outcome. The Bitwise AI Platform is built around that reality. Each application brings the business know-how for its domain; the platform decides what the AI is permitted to do, holds it to those limits, and records the evidence behind every result. Teams get speed without giving up control.

One foundation, four capabilities

The Bitwise AI Platform gives every Bitwise AI solution - and every client-specific one -the same starting point:

  • Build & Package - assemble and release AI solutions from reusable, version-controlled building blocks instead of starting from scratch
  • Run & Control - run agents inside approved boundaries, with controlled access to AI models and business systems
  • Intelligence Services - connect agents securely to the right enterprise knowledge and context so answers are grounded in the client's own information
  • Trust & Operations - approvals, monitoring, audit trails, quality measurement and cost visibility built in from day one

Security, access control, compliance and cost management are handled centrally and consistently, and clients remain free to run on the cloud of their choice.

Managed Services Agent (for Data Engineering Operations) - an AI teammate for support teams, not a chatbot

Once a data estate is live - whether migrated by FulkrumAI or already in place - it still needs to be run day to day. That is where the Managed Services Agent comes in, it picks up an incoming support ticket, investigates it across the client's tickets, logs, databases and infrastructure, and hands the support analyst a clear, evidence-backed diagnosis with a draft resolution note ready for review.

It's purpose-built for data engineering and ETL operations, covering the failures that dominate these environments: overnight jobs that didn't run, data quality and reconciliation breaks, and pipeline and scheduling faults. A reusable diagnostic core is specialised by domain and activated for each client's own systems and terminology - so every deployment behaves as though it were built for that environment, without being built from scratch. Every scenario is defined in advance: what the agent must check, how far it may go, and what it must never do.

The operating boundary is deliberately simple: Diagnose. Recommend. Draft. Prepare. The agent does not execute remediation or push changes into client systems. For clients, this means faster and more consistent triage, a complete audit trail on every case, and support analysts spending their time on judgement calls instead of gathering evidence. A person always makes the call.

FulkrumAI - coordinated AI agents for data modernisation

FulkrumAI is the next generation of Bitwise's Fulkrum migration IP, evolving from a rules-based automation engine into a coordinated team of AI agents that plans, executes and validates data modernisation end to end. A team of specialised agents work across four stages assessment and discovery, data foundation, data engineering, and insights to land clients on a modern, governed cloud lakehouse on Databricks or Microsoft Fabric.

The agents assess and score existing legacy systems, produce the design documentation, convert databases, data pipelines and reports, validate and protect sensitive data, rebuild dashboards, and reconcile every record from source to target so the business can trust the result. Once that lakehouse is live, day-to-day operations pass to the Managed Services Agent on the same platform, so the client relationship carries from modernisation straight into ongoing support, with no handoff to a different tool or team.

Fulkrum has been driving enterprise data modernisation programmes since 2025; FulkrumAI carries that track record forward with agentic planning, execution and validation built natively on the Bitwise AI Platform. Bitwise reports the following outcomes from FulkrumAI-led modernisation programmes:

  • 60% reduction in manual migration effort
  • 40% lower migration cost
  • 100% data reconciliation and traceability, source to target

Between them, the two applications cover the full life of a data platform. FulkrumAI gets clients onto a modern lakehouse; the Managed Services Agent keeps it running reliably afterwards. Because both are built on the Bitwise AI Platform, clients adopt one set of governance, evidence and cost controls rather than a different one for every tool and every future Bitwise AI application arrives with those controls already in place.

Raman Sapra, Global CEO of Bitwise, said:

"The next phase of enterprise AI is not about experimentation - it is about turning AI into products businesses can rely on, with the trust, governance and operational discipline that enterprise adoption demands. We built the Bitwise AI Platform on a simple principle: the business knowledge and context belongs to the application, but the authority and governance belongs to the platform. That is what lets AI move fast and still be defensible. The Managed Services Agent and FulkrumAI prove the model on two very different problems - one modernises a data estate, the other keeps it running - and both inherit the same controls from day one. This launch is another important step in our mission of Engineering Your AI Advantage."

Bhaskar Dhawan, SVP & Global Head of AI, Bitwise, said:

"FulkrumAI and the Managed Services Agent aren't two separate bets - they're proof that one platform can support very different domains and still hold every one of them to the same standard. FulkrumAI builds on IP we've been refining since our first Fulkrum launch; the difference now is that it plans and validates its own work as a coordinated agent team, with the Bitwise AI Platform holding it accountable at every step. That's the pattern we intend to repeat with every AI application we bring to market. With this launch, the platform becomes the product - everything we build next just gets faster and easier to trust."

Vishal Gupta, Partner - Data & AI Research, Everest Group, said:

"As enterprises move beyond AI experimentation, the differentiator is shifting from what a model can do to how it is operationalised – through controlled access, traceable evidence, cost visibility, and measurable business outcomes. Pairing robust governance with domain-specific applications in areas such as data modernisation and managed services can help bridge the gap between pilots and production-scale deployment, reflecting the broader industry shift towards engineered, enterprise-ready AI."

The launch marks an important milestone in Bitwise's AI-First strategy and reinforces its commitment to Engineering Your AI Advantage, helping enterprises accelerate AI and agentic AI adoption while delivering trusted business outcomes at scale.
